Post yoga juice. Pineapple, apple, mint. Happy Saturday! Posture clinic with Mary Jarvis tomorrow..woop woop
BEAUTIFUL day, decided to play around a little outside.
In honor of Earth Day I thought I would post Earthlings. Someone posted this movie on their tumblr a while ago and I decided that because I was following a vegan diet, I should watch it. It completely changed my view on my veganism and made me really think about my choices and what my dollars support. I will warn you it is intense and really haunted me for a while after watching it but It is because the images are so awful to veiw that is SO important that everyone is aware of the truth and what goes on. I hope that my posting this will change someone else’s perspective the way it changed mine. Happy Earth Day!
Had a ROUGH class tonight. It has not been my week physically. I accidentally consumed gluten this weekend by way of contaminated tortillas and had probably the worst reaction I’ve had yet. It lasted all through Sunday night and into Monday, and I was still feeling the after shock Monday night. I went to 7pm class today and felt SO nauseous. I did’t even think I would make it through standing head to knee without shitting my pants or puking. I had to sit out the second set of standing bow, only the second time I have ever had to sit down. I felt so gross all through class the only thing I could imagine making me feel better was a ginger kombucha. So yes, I was THAT girl running into Whole Foods right at closing time and I got it. Very worth it.
A shot of death to give me life…
straight ginger juice down the hatch. Been feeling a bit off these past few days and I don’t like it one bit! I have a pretty busy weekend coming up and I don’t want to miss any of it so I’m taking a rest this evening from working out to try and let my body heal before Saturday. I feel very strongly about the benefits of ginger and although this sucker burned a bit going down, I honestly feel better already. I recommend it for lots of different aliments.
Went to NYC for the National Yoga Asana Championship this past weekend. I was a little nervous traveling with relatively new people who don’t necessarily eat the same as I do. But thanks to Happy Cow I managed to find some good eats along the way. I volunteered during the men’s semi finals, the first photo is me sporting my volunteer shirt courtesy of USAYOGA. I had alot of fun watching and being a part of this event. I also got to practice in New York for the first time which was exciting! I went on Sunday to Bikram Yoga Midtown and man was it HOT! But I had a good class. The youth competitor from my studio came in 8th over all and she did great! All in all, glad I went.
- I posted this one year ago today. One month ago I participated the the New England Regional Yoga Asana Championships and tomorrow I am headed to NYC to attend and volunteer at the Nationals and am toying with the idea of Bikram Yoga Teacher Training. It seems so strange to me how much this has become a part of my life in just a year. For so long it felt I had been searching for community, and I feel that I’m finally starting to find it in yoga. Participating in competition has forced me out of my comfort zone and helped me put myself out there. I love using my physical body and twisting into different postures, It brings me joy and I want to work hard and better my practice, and It feels good to actually be motivated and passionate about something in my life..I feel like I have more to say but my brain is a bit frazzled at the moment. I am so glad I took the leap and took that first class, and will be interested to see where I am in my practice next year..
Staying at the Muse hotel I think. Anyone know of any organic and vegan or vegan friendly restaurants that are close to this hotel?
